Lost & Found 

  • Abbey Court Hostel and its employees may not be held responsible for any loss occurring on the premises, howsoever caused. 

  • In case you have forgotten an item during your stay, we kindly ask you to fill out our online form. Please describe the item as precisely as possible, as where it was forgotten, as well the date the item may have been forgotten. We will do our best to find the items and resolve any request within 48 hours after receiving it. However, we cannot guarantee that lost items will be found. We will contact you in maximum 24 hr to confirm if the item was found or not, and in case it was, you can proceed in organizing the pickup. 

  • Abbey Court Hostel is not liable for items believed forgotten, mislaid, or left behind and we cannot guarantee that these items will be found. If an item is found in a guest bedroom or within the hostel premises, it will be recorded and safeguarded for 90 days if it is not into the below list of exclusions. 

  • Property or any luggage tagged by guests/ customers and left more than 24 hr in our paid luggage storage will be kept for a period of 3 months. After which it will be disposed of. Any claim of this property in the mentioned period is subject to additional fee. Any unclaimed lost and found items will be dispose off or donated to the local Charities.

  • In order for property to be reclaimed, a detailed description of the item(s) and/or proof of ID (identity), and date that the item was left will be required. 

  • Abbey Court Hostel accepts no responsibility for private property whilst on the premises, including accepting any liability should lost property be returned for any reason to someone who is not its owner - eg if someone makes a false representation to us of ownership of property. 

Exclusions from considering an item lost and found:  Because of sanitation-related issues, items such as the following are not considered lost items and will be disposed of immediately: 

  • Trash - no one would claim or at least we will not register as lost and found garbage, broken or unsanitary items, food, beverage, alcoholic beverage, personal hygiene or cosmetic items, soiled or otherwise unusable clothing or personal items, pens, pencils, markers, with a value lower that 5 euro. 

  • Food or food items, including alcoholic beverages left after departure in the rooms / common areas – dining, games area.  

  • Personal hygiene or cosmetic items left unattended in the common bathrooms/showers (with some exception, as new or expensive items) 

  • Soiled, damp or otherwise unusable clothing or personal items (underwear, socks) 

  • Towels (will be send to laundry) 

  • Maps, books: will be immediately placed in the Games Area library bookshelves.
